IVANHOES coach Ben Rauter admits he’s both amazed and afraid of Brothers’ halfback maestro Maipele Morseu ahead of Sunday’s sudden-death CDRL semi.

The Knights enter the Barlow Park clash in winning form after disposing of Southern Suburbs in the opening weekend’s elimination fixture.

The intensity goes up a notch against the Brethren, stung by their defeat to Innisfail but with a not-so-secret No.7 to call on.

Morseu was unlucky to not make the Gold Medal shortlist after steering Chey Bird’s side to second on the CDRL ladder.

“Innisfail were very good against Brothers because they got to Maipele,” Rauter said.

“If you shut him down that’s a lot of Brothers’ attack.

“He’s a special player and I enjoy watching him play.

“He can make something out of nothing and we need to be aware of that.”

In a major boost for the Knights, they will take an unchanged 17 into Sunday’s clash.

Brothers, meanwhile, have regained Denzel King but the star hooker’s recovery from a broken jaw is tempered by the absence of Matt Bon and Lachlan Parmenter.
